The Mark of Zorro - a special showing at the Sebastiani Theatre with a live soundtrack by the members of Renegade Orchestra on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 pm.
The Mark of Zorro is where it all began - the original swashbuckling version of Zorro. Premiering in 1920, this landmark film set the tone for all future adaptations of Zorro and it also influenced action movies in general. During this special showing, members of the Renegade Orchestra will perform a newly composed soundtrack - live!
Starring Douglas Fairbanks, this film takes the audience back to the Spanish California of the 19th century - a land ruled by greedy landowners. Into this world steps Zorro, βThe Fox,β who fights for the common man with his sword and dashing charm.
Each year, the Renegade Orchestra brings a new soundtrack to be performed to a classic film and in this 4th installment, the small ensemble will capture the spirit and adventure of Zorro with flamenco guitar, soaring strings and other instruments. The orchestra will perform in the theater, with their music piped through the amazing movie theater style sound system.
Grab some of the amazing concessions or even some wine and enjoy being transported back to 1920 for The Mark of Zorro!
