Renata Virk Sebastiani Theater Foundation Board Member
Renata Virk was born in New Delhi, India, and carries roots there as well as in Vancouver and Seoul, Korea. For nearly two decades, she has helped shape media in Sonoma Valley as a marketing and media consultant.
She got her start in Vancouver, where she founded and ran a successful advertising and marketing firm, before moving into radio and television in Seoul. In 2005, she relocated to Sonoma, where she has since raised her children.
In Sonoma, Renata served as Marketing Director at the Sonoma Index-Tribune, building advertising relationships and community partnerships. In 2016, she launched Valley of the Moon magazine, and in 2020 she co-founded Remote Report as Senior Director of Business Operations. She went on to serve as Director of the Fellows Program at The Nantucket Project while simultaneously directing publishing at The Social Publication, a Sonoma-based magazine celebrating the people and businesses of her adopted hometown. She has also hosted a show on KSVY radio, interviewing locals about the music that has shaped their lives.
Renata is now launching her own consulting company spanning media and publishing, and remains a sought-after speaker on the industry. She lives in Sonoma Valley.
